Just like in the movies, I woke up today expecting too much from people, expecting lots of kisses from mom and dad, but mama and baba didn't give a damn. They went to work as soon as they were done with their coffee. So I retreated to my laptop seeking love from my virtual friends whom gave me lots of it.
I dressed up, and went to see another Iranian film which happens to be deadly boring for it was Okayed by the Iranian government. Inside the cold hall, and while I was hoping for something to strike me in the movie, I received a text message from dad:
Hi razan be early tonight will celebrate ur birthday out happy birthday
I smiled, though it meant that there will be no hangover tomorrow morning, but I am glad my parents did give a damn after all, they usually celebrate indoors.
I was looking at my pictures when I was young, apparently I did not like cameras.

o.k., if i may, and at the risk of being accused of bad intentions, i would like to unequivocally say that your sultry eyes today are just as they were in that ksa picture; and by sultry i do not mean to be too personal, just that piercingly sharp-edged upper lid that ever-so-slightly renders your eyes with just a bit of a sleepy, apathetic, skeptical gaze that says so much. it actually resembles the way eyelids were portrayed on pharaonic sculptures.
oh, and my daughter wa3d's milad (one year old) is on the 8th of november, so milad sa3eed to all the novemberites.

Thanks Niki, this is the first time I don’t like an Iranian film, I asked around and I was told that this is a governmental movie, so I was relived :-) the movie calls "It's Winter", earlier this week I saw an amazing Iranian movie called "Baran"..o..m..g!

A very belated happy birthday to you! I found 27 to be the very start of my "figuring things out period" that culminated in a flood of painful, exciting, wonderful, horrible, amazing, "wouldn't trade them for gold", moments and discoveries that left me stronger and happier at 33
than ever before (_NOT_ that I've figured everything out!). I suspect it may prove similar for you. Be awake to it all, be strong in who you are, and enjoy the ride.
You really have to come see me in Istanbul! I am trying to get back to Syria early next year after I finish my course and can come up for air.
